36-Year-Old Brainerd Man Charged With Sexual Assault
BRAINERD- A 36-year-old Brainerd man has been charged for allegedly sexually assaulting a 12-year-old girl.
Frank Sanoski, who is accused of sexually assaulting the girl since she was 8 or 9 years old, made his first appearance Nov. 9 in Crow Wing County District Court in Brainerd and was charged with three felony first-degree and two second-degree criminal sexual conduct charges. The criminal charge descriptions include sexually assaulting a victim under age 13, with someone who he has a significant relationship with, assaulting her using penetration and committing the offense multiple times.
A Rule 8 hearing—where the defendant's legal representation is addressed— was scheduled Monday for Sanoski, but he failed to appear in court. A warrant was issued for his arrest and he was apprehended Monday night and placed in the Crow Wing County Jail. Sanoski had his rescheduled Rule 8 hearing Wednesday in front of Judge Christopher Strandlie. At the hearing, a continuance was requested so Sanoski could consult with his own attorney. He did not request a public defender. During the hearing, Sanoski was released from jail along with several conditions of his release, such as having no contact with the victim, he cannot leave the state and he must appear for all court appearances, court documents stated.
His next court appearance is scheduled for 8:30 a.m. Monday.
Sanoski is a convicted sex offender. In 2007, Sanoski had sexual contact with a victim while she was at his home babysitting his children in Brainerd.
