The initial investigation indicates the vehicle was travelling west on Gull Lake Dam Road and went through the intersection of Gull Lake Lane into the river.

An autopsy is scheduled with the Ramsey County Medical Examiner’s Office and the crash remains under investigation. The identity of the driver is being withheld pending notification of family members.

Assisting at the scene was North Ambulance, Pillager Fire and Rescue and the Minnesota State Patrol.

There was a previous fatal crash at this location approximately one month ago and our office is working diligently with the County Engineers and the City of East Gull Lake to install safety barriers at this location to prevent any other tragedies.   Our records indicate these have been the only two serious accidents at that location in the last 17 years.
