Babinski Foundation 1st Anniversary Celebration Saturday

The Babinski Foundation Animal Shelter is holding their One Year Anniversary Bash and Fundraiser Saturday. We had a chance to chat with Marketing Manager Lisa Wood about the Foundation and the event.

The Babinski Foundation is an animal shelter in Pequot Lakes that provides temporary homes for abandoned, stray, or surrendered animals.

At the animals' temporary homes at the Babinski Foundation Animal Shelter, the animals are given all their shots, spay or neuter the animal, and get them ready for adoption. So they're ready to go be adopted once they are healthy.

The foundation has a big impact; since it opened last August, 357 animals have been adopted and 70 animals have been returned to their owner.

If there is a pet missing from its family, they post online.

Their Facebook page and website.

As far as the celebration…

So it's two bands playing: Blind Joe and Copperhead Creek. The music starts at 6PM.

With the festivities Saturday, there will be no animal showings or viewings. The foundation will be taking silent donations up until tomorrow, with all proceeds from tickets and silent auction going to the non-profit shelter.

The silent auction goes until 9PM, but you do not need to be present to win your prize. They also ask that kids be out by 10PM.

Tickets may be bought at the door for thirty dollars, or ahead of time for twenty dollar, either at the Babinski Foundation building, or at some of the area businesses…
