Traffic Incident in Aitkin County on July 5th

The Independence Day Holiday weekend was not short of incidents on the roads in the Lakes Area. 

Early Friday morning on July 5th, shortly before 7 o’clock, Aitkin County Sheriffs responded to a two-vehicle crash on Highway 65 at Goshawk Street, north of McGregor. A 2010 Chevy Camaro was southbound on Highway 65 was struck making a left turn onto Goshawk by a 2002 Ford pickup in the northbound lane. 

The driver of the Camaro, 75-year-old McGregor man, was airlifted to St Mary’s Hospital in Duluth for life threatening injuries. 71-year-old man from White Bear Lake was treated at the scene for non-life-threatening injuries.
