Wiffle Ball Tournament ready for Riverboat Days
Aitkin Youth Fastpitch will return an instant classic with their 2nd annual Wiffle Ball Tournament Saturday as part of Riverboat Days. Last year was a great success with help from the community that greatly benefits the blooming fastpitch programs for the Gobblers.
Austin Krohn said there was a lot of help from the community in every facet to get through the first full season of youth fastpitch softball and their 16 teams.
The Wiffle Ball Tournament was a spur of the moment event that grabbed the attention of participants and their families. Krohn said this year will have more fine-tuning to get the best results.
Proceeds from the registration go right back into Aitkin Youth Fastpitch. The Aitkin community also pitched in to help.
Registration for the Wiffle Ball Tournament can be done by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org with contact information and cost for the 5-person team is 50-dollars. Games will be played behind Rippleside Elementary at “The Roost” starting Saturday at 10am with a Home Run Derby to follow after the championship games.
