Aitkin County 2020 Proposed Budget discussed Tuesday
Aitkin County Administrator Jessica Seibert presented the County’s 2020 Proposed Budget on Tuesday during the Board of Commissioners Meeting at the Aitkin Public Library.
Administrator Seibert started by breaking down the salaries and benefits of employees that makes up over 50-percent of the budget.
After going through the different categories that fall under the budget, including Materials and Supplies, Utilities, Capital Equipment, and Transportation, the County’s revenues would see an increase from 2019.
Further numbers from the 2020 Proposed Budget included 1.1-million-dollars from the County’s Fund Balance going towards Capital Construction. Capital Expenditures will allocate to the Road & Bridge Department 630-thousand-dollars out of 1.9-million-dollars. Administrator Seibert said more needs to be done with the Proposed Budget before it becomes final.
