Aitkin County Habitat for Humanity accepting applications for 2020 home

Community support and giving families a home is what the Aitkin County Habitat for Humanity is striving for with their latest home project for 2020. Applications are available to apply for the new home which has already begun with ground work and a concrete slab to be laid in the near future. Executive Director Ann Schwartz say the location of the new home will help with peace of mind and safety.

Standard Habitat homes are 3 bedroom, one bathroom, a utility room, with appliances included and in-floor heating. Contractors and construction companies donate their time and services to this wonderful cause.

Community volunteers also pitch in their efforts, which Habitat for Humanity always welcomes.

For those looking to apply to live in the home, there are guidelines, regulations, and paperwork that have to be followed strictly.

The timeline for the home is on schedule, but hopefully with good weather, they can finish in Summer 2020.

Applications for the 2020 home can be found on the Aitkin County Habitat for Humanity website. Contact Ann Schwartz by calling the Habitat office at 218-927-5656 or by email. Applications need to be completed and returned to the Habitat office, located 214 First Avenue NW in Aitkin, by January 17th, 2020.
