Local girl awarded Knights of Columbus International Award

One local high school student was honored by the Knights of Columbus with an International Award for free throw shooting this past week. Tori Oehrlein, an 11-year-old from the Crosby-Ironton School District, was one of two Minnesotans to win the International Free Throw Shooting Championship by the Knights of Columbus. 

Oehrlein was presented her trophy before the Rangers girls basketball team faced the Proctor Rails by Knights of Columbus Minnesota State Officers this past Tuesday. Oehrlein started off her journey by placing 1st at a local and District 2 competitions in Brainerd, followed by winning the Region 7 competition in Aitkin and the State competition in St Cloud. 

After State scores were tabulated by the Knights of Columbus Supreme Headquarters, Oehrlein was named one of 21 international champions out of a total of 100,000 participants.
