Aitkin HOPE receives emergency funding, advocating through COVID-19
Aitkin HOPE (Healing Opportunity Provided Equally) was recently named one of four recipients of emergency funding from the Allstate Foundation and the National Network to End Domestic Violence. HOPE received a grant of $4,500 to support domestic violence programs in Minnesota in the midst of the COVID-19 Pandemic.
HOPE Executive Director Megan Cummings says the funds are essential to continuing their goals.
Recent trends have shown an increase of domestic violence incidents with people working from home, which Cummings broke down more.
HOPE is still advocating either at the HOPE House or remotely.
Social Distancing at work and community support have also helped in “flattening the curve”.
HOPE is available to talk no matter when and through a variety of contact avenues.
