Pierz Mayor Recaps Council Meeting from September 14

(PIERZ, MN) -- The city of Pierz held a regular council meeting on Monday, September 14, and we spoke with Mayor Dave Fischer about the items that were brought up and how everything went.
Fischer mentioned that the city would be receiving some grant money to address some erosion on hole 5 of the Pierz Golf Course, a situation that has been ongoing.
The city also addressed some various humanitarian-based items, including satisfying mortages from a small cities development program as well as agreeing to participate in the Salvation Army's HeatShare Program, which helps those in need survive tough winters.
Fischer then provided updates related to the fire department and recognized winners of Lifesaving Awards from the fire and police departments.
With elections on the horizon, Fischer explained that the in-person voting procedures have been set and will closely follow from the example of primary voting earlier this year.
