DNR says Stay Safe during Memorial Day Weekend

The Minnesota Department of Natural Resources is reminding Minnesotans this Memorial Day Weekend, the traditional start to summer, to stay safe and take all the precautions with COVID-19 while enjoying the outdoors.

DNR officials say to observe social distancing guidelines out on the trails, at the public water accesses, wildlife management areas, or at scientific and natural areas. A wide range of activities are still available for families to have fun including picnicking, boating, hiking, fishing, or any range of other recreational activities.

Gathering of groups of 10 people or more is prohibited at this time, and be sure to be familiar with preventing the spread of aquatic invasive species, safety with off-highway vehicles, and current fire conditions in your area or whatever recreational activity you intend on doing this long weekend.
