Pequot Lakes Football Coach Resigns

Head Football Coach Chip Lohmiller has resigned his position at Pequot Lakes and his resignation was accepted by the school board at their February 12th meeting according to Marc Helmrichs, Pequot Lakes HS Activities Director.

Lohmiller has served as the Patriots Head Coach for the past 14 seasons and has compiled a record of 80-64 over that time. Since 2009 the Patriots advanced to the section finals 7 times. Over that 9 year span, the Patriots went 63-34. The Patriots have gone 31-13 over the past 4 years.  The Patriots were section champions in 2009 and this past fall where they advanced to the state semifinals at US Bank Stadium.

Helmrichs commented on Lohmiller’s tenure,  “Coach Lohmiller has been a key part of our athletic department for many years.  He has done a great job of helping our athletes reach their potential as football players. Coach Lohmiller has done an outstanding job of preparing our players for each and every game.  I want to thank Coach Lohmiller for his work at Pequot Lakes High School and wish him the best in his future endeavors.”

The search for Lohmiller’s replacement will begin immediately.
